Farm Update

As I failed Stats 4 times, I ask you to draw your own conclusion:
Less than 4% of the total hectarage of Sauvignon Blanc vines in South Africa are planted in the Cape Agulhas Appellation.
In 2024:
Sauvignon Blanc Top 10:
- 4 of the finalists and 2 of the winners come from Cape Agulhas
- Over the past 4 years, there were 8 finalists and 6 winners
Platter’s:
- 2 of the 12 Platter’s 5 star Sauvignon Blancs come from Cape Agulhas
- a similar pattern seen in prior years
We believe that this extraordinary concentration of top performing wines is owing to our unique Cape Agulhas terroir and that the Cape Agulhas appellation has its place among the world’s top Sauvignon Blanc regions.
We would like you to make up your own minds and therefore we invite you to join us at the tasting room this season or at one of our wine events.

Platter’s Awards
Award season continues and we are very proud to have seven of our wines win Platter’s 4 1/2 stars this year.
Our Pincushion Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2023 and our Muscat de Frontignan 2017 both earned Highly Recommended status.
A further six of our wines earned Platter’s 4 stars.
Long Table Events
Our Lomond Long Table Events are back for the season.
The day starts with a boat ride from our tasting room to our picnic site over the dam near our cellar. There you will enjoy a hosted wine tasting and our substantial Harvest Table lunch. Exclusive to Lomond Cellar Club members, these events are thoroughly enjoyed by all!
