Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a masterclass on Cape Agulhas Sauvignon blancs and exploring their remarkable ability to age. Tasting beautifully aged examples, some up to 19 years old, was a powerful reminder of the depth and longevity this region can offer, alongside younger wines bursting with irresistible freshness and pure drinkability.
At Lomond Wine Estate, we are fortunate to work within a cool maritime climate and a rich diversity of soils. This allows us to craft Sauvignon blancs that not only express our unique terroir but also capture that undeniable “yum-factor” across a range of styles.
Our Lomond Estate Sauvignon blanc reflects the full expression of the farm, while our single vineyard Sauvignon blancs, Sugarbush and Pincushion, offer distinctive, site-specific character. These characters, natural freshness and minerality, are beautifully showcased in our Fumé Blanc style, Seven Rows Ben Nevis Sauvignon blanc.
Sauvignon blanc also plays the key role in our white blend, SSV, alongside Semillon and Viognier, adding complexity and vibrancy.

The 2025 vintage was marked with lower yield, but top-notch quality, and this reflects in the new vintage release of Lomond Pincushion Sauvignon blanc 2025.
A distinctive single-vineyard Sauvignon blanc, the Pincushion 2025 offers a precise expression of its coastal origin.
Aromatically vibrant, the wine opens with notes of gooseberry, citrus zest, and subtle white stone fruit, layered with hints of fynbos and saline minerality that follows through onto the palate, reflecting the unique soils and cool maritime influence of Cape Agulhas. The finish is clean, lingering, and elegantly structured.
