It’s February – the month of love and bubbly!

At Lomond, we take immense pride in producing Cap Classique that stands out for its elegance, complexity, and the distinct character of our terroir.

Nestled in the beautiful Agulhas Wine Triangle near Gansbaai, Lomond Wine Estate is renowned for its commitment to excellence, and our Cap Classique offerings are no exception. Our sparkling wines are crafted using traditional methods, ensuring that each bottle is a true reflection of the passion and precision that goes into its creation.

All our Cap Classiques are made using the traditional Méthode Champenoise.

The hand-picked, and meticulously sorted, grapes are gently pressed to produce the juice that is fermented to dryness before being skilfully blended to create the base wines.  Following the Méthode Champenoise, the base wines undergo secondary fermentation in the bottle, producing delightful, palate tantalising bubbles.  Our vintage certified Cap Classiques are aged sur lees for a minimum of 36 months before being riddled and disgorged.  This ensures our Cap Classiques have depth and complexity, with an elegant, ultra-fine mousse.

Our Lomond Cap Classique Range

Our Cap Classique range includes some of the most exquisite sparkling wines you’ll find.

The Lomond Brut Vintage (Pinot noir/Chardonnay) is a classic.  Fresh fruit and white pears with a hint of floral notes.  Rich, elegant with ultra fine bubbles and layers of fresh acidity. It’s perfect for any celebration or simply to enjoy on a sunny afternoon. 

For those who prefer a touch of pink the Lomond Brut Rosé Vintage (100% Pinot noir) is a delightful choice. Soft, delicate pale salmon hue.  Hints of strawberries and white stone fruit. This bubbly is an ideal partner for both savoury and sweet dishes. Its vibrant colour and lively bubbles make every occasion feel festive. 

The Lomond Blanc de blancs vintage (100% Chardonnay) has intense aromas of white fruit, almond nuts and hints of minerality.  Ultra fine mousse, showing hints of brioche and freshness that gives the wine a lingering aftertaste.

And last, but not least our Lomond Nectar non-vintage – a blend of Chardonnay & Pinot noir.  A harmonious Cap Classique.  Fresh fruit and white pears with a hint of floral notes.  Rich, elegant with ultra fine bubbles and layers of fresh zesty acidity.
