Farm Update
Knees Deep in Harvest 2025
Harvest season is officially in full swing at Lomond! The vineyard is alive with energy as our team carefully picks and processes the fruit that will shape the 2025 vintage. It’s a time of early mornings, late nights, and intense focus, but also one of great excitement and anticipation for the exceptional wines that lie ahead. So far we have harvested our Pinot Noir for bubbly, our Merlot for our Rosé and we are currently harvesting our various blocks of Sauvignon Blanc.
A Commitment to Conservation
In the midst of the harvest rush, we are proud to share the completion of our Milkwood Nursery & Greenhouse.
We have collected 150 milkwood saplings/seedlings from our existing Milkwood forests on the farm. Seedlings that come up under the Mother plant eventually die off, as they aren’t able to access enough nutrients. By harvesting and replanting, we hope to generate and enlarge our existing forests. Fingers crossed that these new generations of Milkwoods make it back to the wild when they are ready.
A New Vintage Release – Belladonna SMV 2020
We are thrilled to introduce the latest vintage of our Belladonna SMV Syrah blend. Crafted with meticulous care, this Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier blend embodies the unique terroir of Lomond, offering depth, elegance, and a bold expression of our vineyard’s character. We’d love you to visit us on the farm to taste this exceptional wine first-hand.
Cheers,
Geoff

New Vintage Release
Belladonna SMV Syrah blend 2020
Commenting on our previous vintages of the Belladonna, Michael Fridjhon – The WineWizard – said,
“Lomond’s Belladonna Rhône-style blends saw both the 2018 and 2019 in a dead heat on 92 points . That kind of consistency in performance suggests it’s a cellar worth tracking over the longer term.”
Consistency in performance; with incremental improvements as we learn from previous vintages is what we strive for on all our wines at Lomond.

Conservation – Amaryllis Belladonna
At Lomond we see many March Lilies all over the farm towards the end of February and in March each year. They are always so impressive to see.
These beautiful flowers have inspired the name of our Lomond Belladonna SMV Syrah blend. This wine is a Rhône style red blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Viognier.
